Six-sector NavCam
Persistent port-bow, bow, starboard-bow, starboard-quarter, stern and port-quarter camera assignment.

In active development
Situational awareness, manual recovery and emergency control for remotely operated, semi-autonomous and unmanned vessels.
The role of 2ndHelm
2ndHelm runs as an onboard supervision and browser-viewed operator layer. It provides a clear recovery path if autonomy, communications or a vessel subsystem enters a degraded state.
Planned capabilities
Persistent port-bow, bow, starboard-bow, starboard-quarter, stern and port-quarter camera assignment.
Map, heading, COG, SOG, wake, follow-vessel and re-centre behaviour.
Throttle, steering, dead-man control, request/release control and emergency stop.
Heartbeat monitoring, stale-data detection, automatic reconnection and degraded/offline states.
Restartability, watchdogs, audit trails and isolation of failed camera or subsystem feeds.
Customer branding, domain deployment and integration with existing vessel systems.
Operator view
The operator sees cameras, chart, vessel state and recovery controls. The onboard system continues monitoring health, freshness and connection state in the background.
